Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is coming under criticism for his decision to drop Alexandre Lacazette from his starting eleven against Liverpool.
Lacazette, 26, started for the Gunners against Leicester City and Stoke City but found himself dropped to the bench against Liverpool.
“Lacazette is still in an adaptation phase. It’s difficult to choose from but I have a strong offensive bench,” Wenger said pre-match.
Lacazette was the second-top scorer in Ligue 1 last season notching 28 goals.
Wenger cited Lacazette still assimilating to English football as the reason behind his non-start.
