It appears Twitch has lifted their ban of Deadmau5, doing so about 30 days after the EDM artist was banned from Twitch streams for hate speech.
Deadmau5 took to social media to rant about the ban when it was first levied on him, calling his ban “double standard when it comes to censoring and suspending”, but later apologized for his comments saying;
“I know what I said was wrong, and my hastily composed non-apology was an insult to injury.”
“They (Twitch) had every right to ban me for that, it was clearly in violation of their terms.”
It will be interesting to see what happens from here as Deadmau5 has stated that even if his ban from Twitch was lifted, he would not return to the platform to carry on his own, or participate in other Twitch channels.
Twitch has come under fire as of late for what many claim is an unbalanced and unfair governing system when it comes to suspensions, bans, and punishments as the platform continues to grow in the realm of esports teams, popular brands, sports, female streamers, and more live content.
